Like to be active! Biking and snowboarding are my passions and I'm getting into climbing a bit. Also always up for a game of basketball or soccer. I also enjoy the occasional round of frisbee golf (real golf is for losers).

Very curious person. Studied mechanical engineering as an undergrad, then did Master's in environmental engineering. Became very interested in sustainability and energy use in buildings (the largest single sector of energy consumption).

Love to travel. Like to travel almost as much as visiting friends, and luckily those things usually go together. Some of my favorite visits have been Patagonia, Chile and Mulu National Park in Malaysia (on Borneo and home to some of the world's largest caves).

Have a wonderful family that let me grow up on a farm with the freedom to play in the mud and explore everything our woods. Probably influenced my love of nature and animals in general (and my love of having music festivals on my farm).

Married Georgette Stern on July, 29, 2006. It was the 'Sweaty Wedding' at 100 degrees, but we pulled out all the stops with live music, fireworks, and local gormet food!
